New Beginnings
Join Voces Intimae for Our 2019/2020 Season

Voces Intimae: The Art of Song invites you to be a part of our 2019/2020 Season "New Beginnings," which incorporates an entertaining combination of modern and traditional art song!

Fall Student Liederabend at Saint Paul's Oktoberfest. Enjoy performances of art song by DFW area university and  high school students accompanied on piano by Dallas favorite musical coach and accompanist, Mr. Julian Reed. Join us on Sunday, November 3, 2019, 2:00 to 4:00 PM. at St Paul's E&R United Church of Christ, 6464 East Lovers Lane at Fisher Road, Dallas, TX 75214. Free admission.

We begin our season on November 17 2019, with the concert "Distinguished Lives," sung by Soprano Amy Canchola. Amy paints a picture of the four lives of immigrant women in the song cycle "Sueños De Esperanza" (2013) by composer Henry Mollicone. Then we hear the emotional song cycle, "Vignettes," written by Alan Smith about Evelyn & George Honts and the correspondence of young George, a soldier in WWII, to his Nevada-born bride.

In May, we collaborate with Neo Camerata and Mark Landson with Sergio Cepeda, Tenor to perform "The Juliet Letters," a song cycle written by Elvis Costello of pop/rock fame.

In March, we present "Musings," a series of Art Songs sung by our talented Artistic Director Kay George. Hear Art Songs from the 1850s through current times written by Cécile Chaminade, Joseph Marx, Ottorino Respighi, and Lori Laitman.

As part of our education program, Voces Intimae will offer a Student Liederabend for high school through college students in the Fall and an Adult Liederabend in early June that is open to the public and free of charge.
